What is the Reborn card?
People who are responsable for a computernetwork will probably recognize the following problem. At the beginning of the schoolyear every computer is perfectly configured. Every computer has the same software installed, the monitorsettings are how they should be and the networksettings are optimal.
But after a few weeks there isn't much left of this perfect situation. Every computer has a different desktop, some computers won't even start up, a few ask for a password that no-one knows and the computers are getting slow because of the many strange software programs.
The Reborn card offers a solution to all the problems above.
The Reborn card is a small PCI card that can be inserted in a free PCI slot. Then the harddisk can be partioned into a maximum of fourty partitions, each with a unique password. These partitions can be OS or data partitions. You can also maintain existing partitions.
After the harddisk is partitioned you can install all the software in supervisor-mode. Users like students can't login because it's secured with a password. Students can only login in User-mode. In this mode users are capable to install software, remove files, change backgrounds etcetera but with a simple restart all the original settings, installed by the administrator, will be restored. The computer is even protected against FORMAT C: en FDISK.
